In 1891 established a branch at 18 Astor Place, NYC. (DLB 49). ... were one the few Boston publishers of cheap cloth-covered twelvemos during the 1870s and 1880s. They claimed that their popular twelvemos were "The best editions ever published for the money [1888-89 catalog]. These were turned over to Lovell's United States Book Company in 1890. (Shove).
