ABOUT Samuel Edson Cassino contributed catalogs to PTLA in 1879-1882; in 1883 and again 1885-1886 S. E. Cassino & Co. had small display ads in the supplements but no catalogs; Lucile is not mentioned in an 1887 catalog. The firm appears to have have been known primarily as chromo-lithographer, producer of illustrations, and publisher of magazines for children which also offered a small but regular line of books, including many in the natural sciences, and to have remained active through at least 1919.

PW Vol. XXIX, Jan 9,1886 (No. 728), page 51: BUSINESS NOTES. Boston, Mass.—The firm of S. E. Cassino & Co. has been dissolved by mutual consent. Mr. S. E. Cassino retires, and Mr. Bradlee Whidden assumes the liabilities, and will settle the affairs of the late firm. Mr. Whidden will continue the business under the old firm name for the year just begun. (Page 54): COPARTNERSHIP NOTICES. THE copartnership heretofore existing under the name of S. E. Cassino & Company is this day dissolved by mutual agreement. / S. E. Cassino retires from said firm, and Bradlee Whidden assumes the liabilities, and will settle the affairs of the late firm.
