Professor Kerber is an authority on American history and women's studies. Her publications include "Women of the Republic: Intellect and Ideology in Revolutionary America" (1980) and "Federalists in Dissent: Imagery and Ideology in Jeffersonian America" (1970), as well as more than 50 articles, reviews, and commentaries. She is also coeditor of an important anthology, "Women's America: Refocusing the Past," 2nd ed., 1987. All three of Professor Kerber's books have been reissued in recent paperbook editions. Professor Kerber is the May Brodbeck Professor in the Liberal Arts and professor of history at The University of Iowa.
