Biography
Elizabeth Orr Shaw was born on October 2,
1923 in Monona, Iowa, to Harold T. and Hazel Kean Orr. She received her B.A. from Drake University,
her M.A. in public administration from the University of Minnesota, and her
J.D. from the University of Iowa Law School.
Shaw was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1967 to
1972. She served in the Iowa Senate
from 1973 to 1978, holding the position of Assistant Minority Leader during the
1977-1978 session.
