            Begin text here:»The Shakespeare Club of Marion was organized in 1909.  The club’s purpose was the intellectual improvement of its members, especially in literature and history.  Membership was limited to twenty active members who met on Thursday evenings to discuss current events and study the plays of Shakespeare and other literature.
