Biography

Bess Streeter Aldrich was a writer in the early twentieth century. She wrote articles for numerous magazines including Ladies Home Journal and Harpers Weekly under the psuedonym Margaret Dean Stevens. She attended the Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa), receiving her degree in 1901. Streeter lived in Elmwood, Nebraska with her husband and her three children.

 

Scope and Content Note

The Bess Streeter Aldrich date 1915 and 1919 and consist of two letters (8 pages). The letters are from Aldrich to Mrs. A. D. Miller, with whom she attended the University of Northern Iowa. They discussed Aldrich’s daily routines, including her family life and her writing.
