The University
of Iowa Libraries is the
largest library system in Iowa and has the 17th-largest
holdings among the nation's public research universities.
The University's Main Library, its 11 branch libraries,
and the Law Library contain more than 3 million volumes.
About two-thirds of this collection resides in the Main
Library.

The University of Iowa's rare
books, manuscripts, and historically valuable archives
are housed in the Libraries'
Department of Special
Collections. Some
highlights for this virtual tour are: Iowa Author's
Collection, Oral History Project, Iowa Women's
Archives.
Guild of Book
Workers Library
The Guild
of Book Workers Library is housed in the Special
Collections Department of the University of Iowa's Main
Library and holds over 700 volumes which concentrate on
the arts of the book. Focusing on hand bookbinding
techniques, the collection also contains volumes on the
history of bookbinding and bookbinders, papermaking,
paper decoration techniques, calligraphy, printing, and
book conservation.

Digital Resources Center
The Scholarly Digital Resources
Center at the University of Iowa Libraries was
established to foster the creation and use of digitized
collections and resources of interest to the University
of Iowa community.

Arcade
The Information
Arcade was established in 1992. The Arcade is an
advanced facility for using electronic information and
multimedia for teaching, research, and independent
learning.
